SMT or Surface Mount Technology is Technology in Electronics to Mount or Solder SMD Components / SMT Devices to a PCB (Printed Circuit Board). This SMT Technology is different from Thru-Hole Technology.

Thru-hole electronic components have leads that pass through the holes in the PCB and then they are soldered either by Wave Soldering or Hand Soldering.

But in SMT or Surface Mount Technology, the SMD Electronic Components don’t have any leads. They have tiny solderable pins or BGA (Ball Grid Array).
